installing new door locks 120-130 1966

I should soon be getting getting my car back after too long a stay at the mechanic's. First up on the to-do list is finally taking apart the doors and installing the new vent window rubber, new window channels, new door seals, and also putting in new door locks (I lost the keys to the current locks long ago). Is this job simple and straightforward or better left to a locksmith? Anyone with any tips toward the job if doable? Have done my research for the window rubber, but not yet on the locks.
