92 240 Speedometer Problems 200

Boardmates,

Help, please- 92 245 silver wagon, had one like this since 83- love my bricks, speedometer stopped working after odometer broke, did some research, bought plastic part in instr. cluster and replaced- had one wire, red-white left over- ran the car and seemed everything worked- idiot lights, temp, fuel guage, etc., but no speedometer or odometer- what is next?? PS I couldn't see well pulling ins cluster out, made diagram as best I could, have no idea if red and white wire was plugged into anything, but couldn't find a spot for it--thanks in advance for any help--PSPS understand this model first to have electrical impulse speedometer/odometer- true?? where is sending unit?? need to replace??
