crancase emission prob 230k engine 700 1987

anyone help with this one, for the last few weeks oil has been leaking past the oil filler cap seal ,particularly up hills ,i have replaced the seal but its still the same, i suspect the pcv system may be at fault .
the rubber pipe had come off the vertical tubular thing below the inlet manifold ,refitting that made no difference.
the manual not much help on this,
any suggestions much appreciated also a pic or drawing of the system .
