Gas saving idea??

Why don't you try it and see how it feels......
My experience with missing cylinders is that I want to get
them functional ASAP. I had a 164 with a bad cam lobe that
only ran on 5 and it was barely tolerable. Gas mileage was NOT
any better even with the injector disconnected.
