gas tank fuel feed line replacement 700 1988

thanks for the gas tank tips, i emailed your advice to the volvo tech, he said he has never seen this problem, you hit the nail on the head with the noise my fuel pump makes after the tank is about half full or empty, i have replaced in tank pump, main fuel pump, the fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump relay. still no success. i have reached under the car and felt the line leading into the main fuel pump and the noise seems to be quieted if i wrap my hand around that hose. the volvo tech just replaced the in tank fuel pump last week, cavitating fuel pump? i have a feeling that may be advice he doesnt want to hear, he thinks im neurotic, but everytime i see him the car is full of fuel. anyway thanks for the wealth of information it is greatly appreciated.
