Where is fuel pump relay on an 1988 240 DL? 200 1988

Intermittent stalling does not suggest fuel pump relay to me. I've got to go with the guy who mentioned cleaning the throttle body.

My experience with the fuel pump relays is they fail to let the car start when warm. I have never had one cause the car to stall, that I know of, and almost always they function fine when cold. Sets you up for an embarrassing no start at the post office or the grocery store.

Also, in every instance of faulty fuel pump relays I've experienced, three now, the cause was a "cold joint" at the solder connection between the circuit board and the frame of the relay. The heavy metal frame carries the positive, if I recall, to the relay's coil and the factory apparently didn't get things hot enough soldering the three points, again if I recall, at which it meets the circuit board. Generally, tapping on the relay or twisting the connector would get it to work again early in the failure process, if this is the cause.

You've already shelled out the dinero for the relay, so it doesn't help much this time, even if it is the cause of your travail, but a good hefty soldering iron, like 75 watt or so, and some decent rosin core solder make quick work of sizzling the solder joints to good whetted connections.

I've bought all my heavy irons from antique stores for $10.00 or less, generally NOS, often in the box.
