OEM Tow Hitch - Receiver Size? 700

'89 760T with Tow Hitch. The Receiver measures about 2" height by 3" length
(or more closely 2 1/16 by 3 3/16). It was part of the vehicle when I purchased it about 10 years ago. Evidentily, the standard receiver sizes nowadays are either 2" square or 1 1/4" (Class 1 or Class 2, respectively).

My question is could this be an OEM hitch that came with the vehicle in 1989?

Why 2 x 3"? Is this an older standard or foreign standard?

Anyone have an 89 760 or similiar with the same receiver size?

Also, were you able to find a converter/adapter to take it to 2 x 2"?
