Additions to RUNWLD2's list... 200 1992

The two things most likely to leave you stranded on the side of the road are:

Crank position sensor wire failure ($20).

Plastic radiator blowing off its top nipple ($250 if you replace all the hoses as well).

Does the A/C work? If you live in a hot area, that materially affects price.

I normally wouldn't get hung up on the lack of service records if the guy does his own work (though it doesn't sound like this guy does). I do all my own work and I stopped bothering with service records 10 years ago, other than noting the brand of certain parts (brake pads, etc.) so I know what brands do well.
