My 93 244 turned 50,000 today: looking forward to many more miles 200

HOw did you end up with a 1990 with that few miles? Thats a 1000 miles a year. Keep all fluids up to snuff, that includes oil, brake, transmission and coolant. I was careless about my coolant for a long time. I replaced my thermostat housing and found that it was corroded all the way through in spots. If I had to do it again I'd be sure to use distilled water and only Volvo antifreeze.
