Engine trouble? 1994 Volvo 960 900

First place to check is the OBD codes. The 700/900 FAQ (second dropdown box at the top of the page) has a link in the Table of Contents to the Engine: OBD Diagnostic Codes. It tells you about the diagnostic thingy under the hood.

Check for a code and look it up in the table. Post back here with the results.

FWIW, my 94 960 did the same thing. If it's a problem with a sudden onset, and the car limps on three cylinders, it could be a power stage module failure. There are two for the engine. Each one controls the ignition to three of the six cylinders. They tend to fail on cars with high mileage.

Good luck

Robert
