How do you tell the year by the inst. panel?

I researched 760's here and on the Volvoworld website. Apparently, the body and interior changed in 1988. This car has the newer body style. Front end has a chrome grille and car has a smoother overall look than the earlier 740's I've seen. This is N.E. so I have a hard time believing that a car this clean looking can be any older than 1988.

I plan on calling dealer later today to ask him which year....
