Fuel Tank: What's on the end of your pickup tube? 1800

As Ron says, if you have not damaged it you can clean it up and re-install it. I would think you could also simply pick up some vinyl or brass mesh and put it over the tube with a zip tie. When I re-worked my tank I unsoldered the pickup tube and removed it completely before cleaning and sealing the tank. I used the kit that POR makes and was pleased with the results. Just be sure to follow all the steps for whatever system you use. The last thing you want is a sheet of plastic sealant peeling off the inside of the tank and getting sucked into the pickup tube! If you do any soldering, just remember that gas fumes are nasty things to have around fire and sparks.
