Coolant temp sensor access 200 1984

Corey, you may want to check your auxilary air valve, which is a small cylinder with two beefy black rubber hoses attached located under the manifold. If it gets stuck open your car will idle very high - 2500 sounds about right as the car warms up. If after warm-up the car returns to normal, it may have gotten stuck in the open position and you should pull it out and run carb clean through the in and out ports. I had a ton of trouble trying to get my 242 turbo's idle under control and it turned out to be simply dirty connections to the air valve. You should also clean out the throttle body and make sure nothing there is binding or gummed up. Let me know what happens, I may have more suggestions with the time I just spent with this issue. Andrew
