whats going on with my instrument panel & brick? 200

If your temp gauge says it's running hot, give your dash a gentle whack (or jerk the instrument cluster around a little by the bottom), and see if the temp goes down.

If it does go down, it's probably the little temp board in the cluster. I would either do the bypass (as mentioned somewhere in this board), reseat the board, or change the board out when you are in there replacing the odometer gear.
