mounting DelcoRemy alternator 120-130

Guys;

I believe the D-R can be mounted to the stock mounting boss intended for the Bosch, but ONLY after the pivot boss on the alt is modified by shortening (details...?), AND having its hole enlarged to accomadate the 3/8" pivot bolt...cobbing it up like that undoutably weakens it pretty good, and just about kills any hopes of trading it in as a core etc. should you ever need to replace it.

A single ended mounting like that is OK if everything is fine and tight, but I just don't like it because if anything (pivot bolt or belt tension adjusment loosens up) the "overhanging load" condition makes the vibrations (which WILL occur) really BAAAAAD, eventually resulting in a broken off mounting boss....there's just no safety margin....beware Damian!

Cheers
