Radio removal 200

Once you get better access as the other guys suggest, you'll find a big ol' metal bracket attached to the back of the radio. It might have a hex head bolt, and it might have a finger that locks into a socket in another piece behind the dash. Either way, it's your enemy, and you need to get it out of there. Watch for the wiper mechanism back there- clearance is VERY tight and it can eat fingers or wires if you're not careful.

Be advised your car has an amp mounted behind the little junk box at the bottom of the console. After removing the lousy amp and factory radio, you can then fit a deeper box from an 87 (or so) 240, and have twice the storage room down below.

Good luck!
