James, sure sounds like a control unit doesn't it? The only other thing you might want to do is to reconnect the grey wire at that connector and disconnect the ECU itself just to make sure that the wire is not grounding somewhere between that connector and the ECU. Afterall, it was hit on that side so you never know. The 89-90 LH ECU's were really garbage, I cannot tell you how many of those I saw replaced back in the day. 99% of them were for failure to engergize the fuel system relay and you say someone has already jumpered that portion of the relay. Make sure you disable that part before you connect in your new/used ECU.
