b20 upgrade and longer gearshift 1800

I think it should be possible to take a piece of flat bar with a threaded hole at each end. Screw one end on to the thread of the shifter and secure with a lock nut. Screw another bolt up through the other hole, secure with a nut and spin the knob on to the portion that protrudes above the nut. Never tried it. Just a notion.
