The plugs are greased to keep water out, that's ok.
On these cars, if the alt small red wire grounds to the block, the car likely will not run, and may have all warning lights on all the time, or none at all even when not running.
Fix that wire first and foremost. I had an 86 with that wire repaired, re-routed around the right side and thru the strut tower, with good quality 20-gauge teflon wire. I drove it 50K miles that way, no problems even though it had a crusty wiring harness. Keep a bit at the plug to splice onto, that pin is a special kind of item.
Once its back together, check for spark by pulling the coil wire off the dist. I tuck it in by the left hood hinge, so I can see it while I turn the key. Should be good strong blue sparks. If that's ok, you now move on to the 25A fuseholder behind the battery (main power to fuel pumps, computer, and injectors), and then to the fuel pump relay (under right side of dashboard, near firewall, white box). Replace it or grab a couple junkyard spares. Or a new one: P/N 3523608. Always carry a spare.
