93 940 wagon FI question 900 1993

Hi guys! How can I determine which FI sytem I have? It seesm like there are variations based on the OBD diagnostic codes listed in the FAQ.

Also, I am trying to figure out what causes the check engine light to come on.
After replacing the battery, I had noticed that the check engine light was off. But after driving about 6-8 miles it came back on.

Sometimes the light comes on as soon as the ignition is turned on. Then after driving a few miles, stopping somewhere, then starting the car again, the light is off again until about 6-8 miles are driven.

Anybody have this happen to them? Suggestions?
