Leak around Knock Sensor 700 1989

After digging through Haynes/Brickboard archives/FAQ's I finally realize that the black sensor in block (under intake) is the knock sensor.

OK.

It looks like I've got a small oil leak coming from that area. But now that I realize the function of this sensor, it's not likely connected to any fluid source.

It's not valve cover. Question:

Can knock sensors leak?

Thanks in advance.
