Installing Front wheel Bearing Races 200

I'm putting new bearings in my '87 240 wagon and need some advice. (1st timer here)

In the hub where you install the races do you seat the race completely into the hub? I started to install the races and wasn't sure how deep to seat them.

There are 2 ridges and it seems like the deeper ridge is too deep. When I was putting one of the new outer races on using the old race to tap it in the new race went deeper than the first ridge almost to the deepest one. I'm just a little confused. Is there anyway to tell they are exactly evenly seated in the hub?

Any help, thank you very much.

John
