IGNITION 200

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 1984 245 TURBO WAGON FOR VERY CHEAP. THE IGNITION ECU WAS BAD,AMONG OTHER THINGS,AND I DIDN'T WANT TO SPEND $177 FOR A NEW ONE. I HAD SEVERAL GM HEI IGNITION MODULES SITTING AROUND( THEY ONLY COST $13.00 ). I BENCH TESTED ONE WITH A VOLVO DISTRIBUTOR ( 100 ohms)(GM DIST HAS 80 OHMS). I USED AN EXTERNAL HEI COIL FROM A JUNKED CHEVY MOTOR,AND LOW RESISTANCE WIRES ,AND I WAS ABLE TO GAP THE W7DTC PLUGS AT .044". IT HAS A REAL HOT SPARK. THE BOSCH ROTOR HAD 5000 OHMS, SO I REPLACED IT WITH AN AUTOZONE ROTOR FOR $6.00,AND IT ONLY HAS 1000 OHMS. I DON'T KNOW HOW RRELIABLE IT IS ON THE CAR YET,BECAUSE I STILL NEED TO GET A KEY MADE AT VOLVO, AND FIND A 4.10 RING AND PINION GEAR AND CARRIER,AND I'LL BE ON THE ROAD. ANYONE HAVE A GOOD DIFFERENTIAL?
