The '67-68 140 tunnels are smaller than '69- tunnels. The early one takes a 6" round center bearing rubber hangar and the later one 8" one with spring.
You should be OK for the '71, but a '68 cannot accept the bigger drive shaft and 2" centerbearing due to this, although the transmission should physically fit, at least a 240 M46 can fit if you use the early driveshaft/hangar.
