1993 240 Electrical Issue 200 1993

Recently I have noticed that the wiring harness that runs to the drivers side door has become brittle and required some attention. My local mechanic took care of the problem by splicing new wire where needed. However I've now lost the ability to conrol my rear windows from the drivers panel. Additionally my radio has stopped working on a regular basis, however it will occasionally turn on if I open and close the driver door. What's the best way to repair this? Can I purchase a new wire harness for that section , ie car to door? or do I have to just continue splicing new wire where needed??

On another note, I'm looking to purchase a repair manual. Does anyone have a suggestion as to which company I should choose? Clymner Chilton Haynes etc..

Thanks in advance.

Chris
