CIS Idle & other Probs. 200 1982

Build Date on this car is 9/ 81- so would it be an 81 or 82 model? 245DL 4 speed/ OD. OK- Here are the probs.- I bought the car a few mos. ago & apparently one of the PO's had very strange ideas concerning 'maintenence'. Some of the wiring has been replaced, mainly tail lights- PO decided to use higher amp fuses instead of trying to find the problem (some things got kinda melty)
Initially- there was no fast idle when I started the car. I would have to hold the pedal down for a few minutes to keep from stalling- after the engine was warm- would idle high. Now- after cleaning the Flame Trap(clogged) & conneting it to where it's supposed to be (I Found it hanging- partialy disconected) Removed the CIS/ Air Control Valve- Discovered that the used replacement was the wrong part #- Cleaned the original (Black oily goo inside)& Re-installed. Changed air filter(dark gray from dirt) & Oil Change.
Now it Has fast idle when cold- goes to normal idles soon after, But when the Temp. Guage gets to norm operating temp- the idle is high- seems that the more the car is driven- the idle goes higher. I'm going to check the TPS later and adjust everything to specs-
Bad temp sensor? Any Suggestions/ Comments?
