Rust-proofing the 240? 200 1984

I had it done @ a local body shop. It's becoming very common now & is easily found.

As to the rust, the first thing is to clean the underbody. Then use a mild "paint friendly" solvent to further clean (I'm using standard degreaser on my 744). Then clean it down very thorough with a pressure washer.

Remove ANY rust and treat (I suggest treating the top side of floorpans as well). Allow the time needed for whatever treatment you use to settle. I went over my POR with primer from a spray can, but it's not supposed to be needed.

Wash the whole thing down with the pressure washer again & have it coated by a REPUTABLE shop. I've had others do as me. One of them used a place that offered cheap service. His car looks like crap and has overspray of the liner on the outside of the body.
