To rehash an old item - clutch or OD slipping?? 200

I am having difficulty figuring out, on an M46 w/OD, if in 1 through 4 the drivetrain is actually driving through the OD cone clutch. What is happening is that in the high torque gears, only when the gearbox is warm, there is slipping particularly in 4th and in OD. I have even noticed slight slipping in 3rd on an incline. I have recently changed the fluid to Type F and even slightly overfilled it as is sometimes recommended. Reading the Chiltons manual seems to indicate that the drive is through the OD "clutch" at all times. Should I concentrate on the OD as the problem or am I looking a a new (main) clutch?? I have a spare M46 w/ an OD...

thanks in advance
