Fuel float bowl concerns 444-544 1960

Hello again,

As you my know the rear float bowl sits right above the exhaust (b16 with the duel SU's). Today after doing some brake tests I opened the hood and there was a light bit of smoke coming from the float bowl (not from inside). I check it and it was kinda hot which concerns me. My 122s has a heat sheild and sits further away from the exhaust. Is there supposed to be a heat shield on this too? I don't think I have seen one before.

Even if the location is OK, a heat shield seems like a good idea for performance issues. cooler fuel is better then hot fuel.

thanks
shane
