service light 700

Recently I have been having an issue with the service light on my '90 740GL. When I first start my brick the light turns on. After a couple of minutes of driving it turns off. When lit if I push the reset button it does not turn off. The car doesn't exhibit any other symptoms so I don't know where to start. This is a new phenomenon for me so I was hoping that someone had an idea of what might be causing this.
