MAIN FUEL PUMP INTERCHANGABILITY 200 1986

My main fuel pump on my '86 245 is starting to get a louder whine than it ever has before. From the best I can tell, my in-tank pump was not running for at least two months (if not longer) and I am sure that the cavitation has done damage to it. I have a like-new pump on my '80 242 (the car doesn't run). The '80 has the old K-Jet system and my '86 has the LH system. Will this older style fuel pump work on my '86? I have the pump off of the '80, but I haven't taken the one off of my '86 as it is my daily driver. Any help appreciated.

Thanks,
Lance
