Changing the starter 700 1991

I have my 91 744T all buttoned up with new plugs, new pressure regulator and new intake gasket and she runs great. But i fear the starter is on its way out from my adventure last night.

Suffice it to say i cranked the shit out of it, and in fact had the key turned and starter engaged but the engine didnt turn at the time due to gas locking the cylinders.

The starter turns the engine over now, but its barely fast enough, and once i stop cranking (when the engine turns over) i hear a wierd almost grinding/winding down sound i never heard before (i assume its starter related).

So can anyone point me in the direction of good starters, and more importantly where on the car its located/ how to remove it.
