SWAG - The scientific part is use of a calculator, the WAG part is assuming that (1) the only factor in price increase has been inflation, and (2) that the average inflation from 1985 to 2003 has been 4%, or 5%, or 6%. It's lower now, but has been higher.

This does not take into account the technological obsolescence the 240 has suffered.

If inflation was 4% average, the price would be $26,214.
If inflation was 5% average, the price would be $31,141.
If inflatoin was 6% average, the price would be $36,935.
