I did spin all the fuses as you said and also cleaned the contacts with grit cloth... all squeaky clean. Triple checked all fuses with multimeter and all were good. I'll have to closely inspect the connections to the fuse contacts.
My alternator does indeed have an internal regulator, and I had the alt. tested fairly recently. It's fine and the problem was a severed connection on the lead out to the battery. BUT would alternator have anything to do with my problems? Everything that works works just fine and there are no signs of current fluctuation or drain.
Today confirmed my suspicions that these are weather related problems. It rained all morning and my car was not so happy. It occasionally sputters like it's not getting fuel, and pulses somewhat especially at low speeds. Had trouble starting at lunch and stalled out right at a crowded intersection, a real class act. Distributor cap is dry as a bone and all connections are good.
Some more suspicions, to add to my list... ignition switch may be dying. Fuel pre-pump (Haynes makes no mention of it but I think I should have one and if so I think it doesn't work). Makes sense that if the internal pump is not working the main pump would work too hard and then domino effect. Ground fault? Wiring diagram in Haynes is not overly helpful.
I still don't know.
Oh power door locks also stopped along with the clock and radio and dome lights. All three require a constant signal. Um.
