SAGGING REAR SELF LEVELING SHOCKS ON 1989 760 GLE, I WANT REGULAR HEAVYDUTY HELP!!!!!!!!!! 700

No, you would not have to loose the IRS. Converting to a live-axle setup would probably be far more effor than it's worth (considering you'd need a different fuel tank and driveshaft as well as the various suspension components).

The FAQ link posted was for someone who had indeed stuck normal Blisteins and IPD overload springs for a 240 wagon onto their IRS equipped Volvo. Nice, probably somewhat affordable, but it leaves you without a camber adjustment (which, among other things, would make me wonder how well it could handle any sort of heavy load).

Unitek, in Sweden, would be willing to special build such a kit as well for about $800/car... and I believe that such a conversion would allow camber adjustment.

It all depends on how much money you want to spend.
