Replacement Turbo 200

Here's some of my recent knowlege gained when trying to put a new center cartridge in an 82 245Ti.

The center sections from the 200 and the 700 are not the same. Most 200s still have the original compressor housing from the oil cooled turbo, which is smaller than the later water cooled 700 turbos. The turbine side is the same AFAIK.

I think the 200 turbo would bolt right to the 700 manifold though. You might measure the output diameter on the compressor housing to make sure you could use the same hoses. I think the wastegate is controlled from a different location on the earlier turbos too. I've seen a 700 turbo that had a nipple near the comressor outlet for the wastegate. My 200 turbo has no such port.

I'm not 100% sure of anything I've written here, just relaying info I got when I received a wrong center cartridge, and the explanation as to why it was wrong.
