Auto tranny filter screen thing 200

It wouldn't be a bad idea to change the filter before you wrote off the tranny as a filter that is getting clogged will cause hydraulic pressures to be low which might account for your soft shift. As far as fluid quality I know there are some who swear by the premium stuff and synthetics but I have always used just a "brand name" and it seemed to work OK.

I did that on mine but it didn't help my "slow to go into reverse when cold" problem but I didn't have any problems with the forward gears either.
