Back from S 80 Hades and into 240 Heaven. 200 1988

My V70 GLT is a drive by wire and it has some odd quirks. When I'm stopped and give it a little gas, there is a minor time delay and then a lag. The idle is also 950 rpm, which I think is a little high and may contribute to some transmission problems, like overheating. I'm going to get a transmission oil cooler for it. I also noticed that the hole for the throttle cable is still in the firewall so I could really convert it to the older style. I would have to keep the electronics connected to keep the ECU happy. I went to a dealer one time to talk to a tech friend of mine and from what I saw, the gas gauge is computer driven so it may be that everything goes through the ECU.
