Rebuilding AW70 Tranny 200

Kevin,

I struggled with the same decision last year on an AW71. After going to one of the better tranny shops in town he told me exactly what was wrong with it after I described the symptoms and said, "We used to rebuid a lot of these, and Toyota had a similar transmission..." The operative phrase was "Used to...", he said they didn't mess with them any more and if I found somebody who would rebuild it to plan on about $1200.

I thought about a used one and figured I'd probably wind up with one that wasn't much better than the one I had so I put in an M46.

Good luck...
