Rebuilding AW70 Tranny 200

Trans shops that can rebuild well aren't that common. There are some around, but most of them buy already-rebuilt transmissions and install them in your car. Furthermore, in the area you're in, the trans shops are better informed about the more garden variety cars, not VOlvos. They'll "rebuild" your trans, but how well will they do it?

If you want a better bet, buy a used, low(er) mileage AW70 and put it in. Don't buy a used alread-rebuilt trans though.

Or maybe buy two. They're super cheap, and they're readily available.

It's like rebuilding an engine; it can be done so that it is better than ever. But it is more likely to be done so that it is only better than it was before it was rebuilt.

You know where to shop for the parts. It's just a matter of getting the part installed into the car.

This is just my opinion; I'd never bother with a rebuilt AW trans since they are so readily available for a fraction of the price. And a whole unit, for the price of a rebuild kit.
