I had checked w/ Allstate, and the insurance cost is the same for a 940T as the NA in NC.
I think most people agree that the normally aspirated B230's power is "just adequate", and many say it is under powered. I think the T is powered the way a car should be, maybe because I am used to V8's or and quicker 6's. Kick, I know your opinions with a 17 year old behind a turbo and Kick, if I didn't trust my son in a T, he wouldn't be driving one. Driving with him, whenever possible, he knows when to use the extra HP and when not to. He knows how to follow a safe distance, defensive driving, common sense driving like using turn signals when so many don't. If this ice coming down builds up today we will be on it, reacting to slipping and sliding and ABS braking (in a safe situation of course). WE will be putting $300+ in parts into it, not me or a mechanic. He is paying for the car, parts and insurance, not me. He knows how another son's friend, the 18 year old next door died speeding and loosing control two years ago. There are also may other ways a kid can get into accidents besides having extra HP. This is my 5th and last child I am putting behind wheels. Among them, with 23 years of driving, the worst thing that has happened were two speeding tickets, and I was not happy about that. The kids were forgiven by the court (no points) with safe driving school attendance, because the speeding was minimal. I can't think of a much better car to put my, I repeat, MY 17 year old into. Please don't generalize and put me into your "stupid idiot" category.
