More fuel level sender questions.... 140-160

I just dropped the NASTY, horrible, stinking gas tank from my project 145 off at the radiator shop. The gas was horribly putrified after 10? years and the inside was coated with a layer of tar-like slime. The stink was horrendous! When I drained it I had to keep clearing the hole with a wood screw to keep the tar out of the way - YUCK ! Gonna cost $140 to boil out and coat. I pick 'er up tomorrow. What a relief.

Fuel sender was also coated with stinking tar-like grunge. Also, it was horribly corroded upon peeling away the nasty tar. The float lever would hardly move up and down. Right now it is soaking in kerosene for possible restoration, but I'm thinking a new or good used replacement is in order.

Are fuel tank senders the same on 140s and 145s ??? Does the year matter ?

Sorry, I couldn't help you Brad, but I'm in the same boat as you !

Later,
Al
