82 fuel pump fuse #7 200

I have been hearing a humming which I believe is from the main pump. At least that's what a check with the stethoscope tells me. A mechanic I talked to told me to check all the mounting bolts at the main pump and make sure the rubber feet the pump is mounted in are doing their job. When I checked, I found one of the bolts that holds the pump to the plate that is mounted in rubber was totally loose. I tightened it up and checked all the others. I don't know yet if this will reduce the humming noise because the car is out of commission right now with other repairs, but it couldn't have hurt. I'll find out pretty soon. Good luck.
