engine dies when headlights switched to hi-beam 700 1989

Pbrown made an interesting post regarding the grounds. With those high wattage lamps on high beams you need to install headlight relays. The basic wiring system involving the Central Electrical Unit and the Headlight Relay will not stand up to that much wattage. I have installed headlight relays on all three of our 700 series cars, and it makes a huge difference with standard wattage headlamps.
