Flywheel resurfacing advice, please 200 1979

A late works poorly for surfacing a flywheel. I had one messed up that way. There are hard spots, from the heat, on the surface of the clutch. These spots are HARD, and the tool on the lathe cuts unevenly on a surface of varying thickness. It is much better to have the flywheel ground. That is what I had done with mine after the know-it-all neighbor messed up the flywheel from my truck.
