Looking for Advice on buying a 1988 765 Volvo Wagon 700

Whew, you said turbo, so you are OK. In regards to the turbo engines, just make sure there is no lingering smoke while idling. This can mean an oil bearing seal in the turbo. The noce thing about the 760's is that they have a better ride than the 740, since they have independent rear suspension. The only other thing when looking at these ages of cars is for the condition of the plastic, and wiring (wihtin the engine compartment). In Sweden a large percentage of the content of these cars has to be bio-degradable. If you live in a hot/warm state the biodegrading process starts while the car is above ground. Just my $0.02
