Much other feedback on BB re: shocks, but regardless, my recommendation is Boge ProGas shocks. (I run Boge TurboGas on my 940, which are too stiff for daily driving - I went for max handling, but in retrospect, the Pros would have been a better all around choice.)
Regarding being "all over the road" - you might also consider an IPD sway bar upgrade. The ride quality isn't compromised, but tracking/accuracy/predictability is greatly improved. Again, check other feedback regarding sway bars.
