Rear end/differential information

1)> or = to 3.54=1031 came from Randy's Ring and Pinion and they seemed quite certain. I know in my own car, the 3.54 rear end that out (82 242 non-turbo) and the 3.73 rear end that went in (from an 84 245 turbo) both had 2 ribs on each side.

I am pretty far from being an expert - I don't even know how to put one in!! But before I learned, I wanted to at least have the right parts on hand. And there didn't seem to be any one source of all the info. It took so long to figure it out, I thought I better post it. Maybe save someone else the time. Thanks - Michael
