brake lights not working

Thanks for your feedback.

Clarification: there is power on one of the contacts of the brake fuse socket.

There were not any recent accidents, break-ins etc. Noone messed with the electrical system.

I just noticed yesterday that the brake lights were not working. They were working before. Could have been out a week or two.

I don't have another working relay. I did pull out and open the one I have in my car - it looked OK. There were not any visible cracks or corrosion on the soldering joints. But is it the relay? Does the power from the fuse go to the switch and then to relay or vice versa?
