Generator Pivot Bolt Tightness 444-544

I just replaced the brushes in the generator on a '63 544. The charging system seems to be fine for now.

While removing the generator I found that the rear 9/16" pivot bolt was going to be extremely difficult to remove so I just took out the three 1/2" bolts holding the bracket to the engine. While out, I cleaned the exterior of the generator and took all of the bracket bolts out for a wire brushing.

The 9/16" pivot bolts seem to have a type of acorn nut on the other end. I did not tighten these nuts down too hard on reinstallation as the pivoting function would appear to be necesary to tighten the belt back up.

Now I am thinking it would be wise to ask here how tight those bolts should be torqued before seeing the generator out of my back window as I drive down the road.

Thank you for reading and thanks even more for replying,

Joe
